My poor, neglected dog
I’m so tired after yoga & gardening in the sun that the only thing that motivated me to take my dog for any kind of walk was the idea of renting a movie. We took a quick walk to Blockbuster. Its barely worth noting. I want to track how often I let her down. Still, […]

A gardener’s work is never done
I did a variety of yardwork activities after slathering on a good layer of sunscreen.
Helped Bob install a new drip irrigation section in the garden
Planted a 2nd round of bush beans (the first planting is just past the dicot emergence stage)
Pulled a bunch of weeds
Harvested lettuce
Trained tomatoes
Prepped pots & garden mounds with soil for a forthcoming dibbling […]

And on the 5th day my arms said…
“We’re getting stronger, but….”
Can we handle flowing thru chaturanga tomorrow to get up to 6 (and then possibly 7 days in a row when I got to Monday’s class?). I’m not sure, so we’ll see. I’ve hit a goal of doing at least 5 days of yoga a week, up from 3 just a month […]

joggin’ the dog
This afternoon the sun is out, but the storm clouds are still floating about & converging into showers now & then. I decided to brave the chance of getting wet & walk Shiloh this afternoon right after yoga. I was already sweaty & not quite ready for lunch, so we went for it. About 1/2 way […]

Core Yoga
Class was great again today. Lisa is such a wonderful, challenging, but encouraging instructor. Too, one of my regular teachers came to the class, plus a woman new to the studio, and a few regulars like myself. It was a class filled with chatter & laughter, which isn’t always appropriate but really fit the group & the […]

Ah…my old friend Flow!
Yeah, I didn’t mean “Aunt Flow”….
I meant I went to a great Hatha Flow class tonight & feel back on track with my yoga & my attitude. Whew! The past few days have been looooww for me. Something kicked into gear today…maybe the rain calmed the pollen that’s been making me crazy hayfever-y…I dunno…but I […]

Dog walk in between showers
I saw that bright yellow thing peek out between the big gray mass in the sky, so I grabbed Shiloh & went for quick walk around the neighborhood. We met a fat chocolate lab & managed to get home before the rain started up again.
[…]

Processed Foods
As I’ve been reading “Fitness Over Forty’s” post yesterday about craving greasy fast food and watching Running Kate post her daily diet, I’ve started thinking a lot about what we put into our bodies.
Off the bat, I’ll tell ya’, I really don’t spend a ton of time worrying about what I eat. I do try […]

Weds Yoga
I went to my regular 5pm Weds restorative yoga class planning to use that slow, 1 hour class as a warm up for the 6:15 Hatha Flow. Alas, I just pooped out. I had a huge allergy attack last night after pulling weeds. When I woke up this morning, it was still with me & […]

Shear Madness!
I went out to see a new client today who hired me to help them evaluate a space for a new hot tub. They have a cute yard with enormous rhodies, pieris, viburnum and other established shrubs. Such a blessing to have established evergreen shrubs that flower! The sad thing is that at some point in this […]
