Tree Down!

Took a walk this evening with Bob and Shiloh, which was nice tho I realized that I was slowing both of them down. Alas the groin isn’t happy this evening. Did manage to “walk it off” for the most part.
On the way home we saw a couple of neighbors measuring our parking circle sign. In […]

Yoga Progress & more on being Certified Local

Went to yoga despite some soreness in my troublesome hip. Took it easy on any groin & outer hip poses. Focused my work on shoulder opening and other such things, which is a good place for me right now.
We did get to work on handstand. There was a time when I swore I’d never be […]

Can I really be Certified Local?

Last Saturday at the Ballard Seafood Festival, I visited a booth hosted by Sustainable Ballard and I signed up for the 100 Mile Month. During the 100 Mile Month of August, the goal is to eat as much food as possible from within a 100 mile radius of your home.  The idea being, among other things, […]

Walk clears the head

Yesterday I worked my eye & finger muscles more than anything else. I took the advice of many and stayed off my sore hip/groin for the day. It was hard to just sit still & read all day, but I do love a good book and seeing as The Power of One is really a […]

Ballard Seafood Festival

Seattle Seafair is in full swing. My neighborhood, Ballard, participates with the annual Ballard Seafood fest complete with many food vendors, craftspeople, beer garden, bands, and more. We went down yesterday & wandered about for several hours. My hip was a bit achy, so I took it slow. I really enjoyed Brave Combo; loved “The Hava […]

Handstand = yes; Lunge = no

I did go to yoga today. Took it very easy…no hip work & no groin work for me. We did do a lot of upper back opening & shoulder work, which is a good place for me to focus. We did partner handstand work & I managed to engage my core & hold myself up […]

Gardening update

I’ve started writing my gardening blogging on gardenhelp.org. If there’s interest among the Sweat365ers, I’ll continue to add information here.
Today’s subject: Watering, Peach Brown Rot, Garden Phlox, and Squash Viruses - my daily journal.

Acupuncture update

I had a great session with my acupuncturist today. Heather incorporates many therapies together with great results. As well, she’s one of my yoga teachers, so we’re able to discuss stretches that are appropriate (and inappropriate).  So, here’s what happened in my session.
First she talked to me about what’s been going on & evaluated the […]
