I have no guilt about my pleasures….that said I do adore:
1. cake & ice cream
2. mindless tv (and sometimes educational tv)
3. a good book (and sometimes a bad book)
4.wine (or martinis), cheese & gossip with my best girl friends
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. (I don’t know who said it)
Places I Have Lived-
1. Richmond/Culpeper/Winston, Virginia
2. San Francisco/Berkeley/Willits/Ukiah/Los Angeles/Santa Barbara, California (and more, but you get the general idea)

3. Lost
4. Ugly Betty
You thought of when you saw your significant other for the first time?
1. Who’s that guy in the corner with the guitar?
2. Hey, I like the way he plays guitar.
3. Is he actually wearing bell bottoms? (it was the 80s; bell bottoms were not cool. I stuck around long enough to figure out he was so thin & his runners thighs so big that straight leg jeans just looked strange on him.)
4. What a good guy with such a sweet smile.
Places I have Been on Vacation-
1. Hawai’i: Maui/Kauai’i/Oahu/Hawai’i
2. Europe: England/France/Italy/Switzerland/Belgium
3. All over NorCal ->SoCal -> Mexico
4. Canada: Whistler/Victoria
Favorite Foods-

1. Scallops (allergic)
2. Okra (slimy, fuzzy & crunchy…what’s that about?)
3. Brussel sprouts (bad things happen)
4. Salmon & pinot noir
Websites I visit Daily-
1.My Yahoo!
2. Seattletimes.com
3. Sweat365
Body Parts I have injured-
1. Spine: Dove into the Colorado river after a storm. Hit the bottom with the top of my head. A summer of MRIs, CAT scans, and neck braces followed.
2. Spine - the fall after the Colorado incident…landed on my arse at a football game after swinging off a rope. Jammed spine in opposite direction.
3. Wrist tendonitis - triggered by running a streaming media camera at Bumbershoot mainstage for hours…”balanced” on a rickety chair on top of lighting cases, behind a barricade shaken by screaming fans.
4. Classic Overuse Injuries - This thing with my hip right now!
Awards You’ve Won-
Let’s go with the landscaping ones listed here. (You can even watch my HGTV episode here)
Nicknames you’ve been called-
1. Rubydoo (Dad’s first one when I was a Scooby Doo addict)
2. Rube (Rubydoo shortened?)
3. Rob
4. Let’s not list the rest of them, okay?

Richmond!!! I’m from about 45 minutes North of there! It’s a small world. I still go through Richmond all the time and have quite a few buddies in the surrounding area. I bet it’s very different living on the West Coast! - So I hear. Glad to learn more about you - you are truly gifted!

Thanks Ladies! I wish I could help you in your gardens, too. I’ve certainly done my share of farming & gardening in VA. (btw: I think of a “yard” as a place where you put prisoners; a garden is a place to enjoy. I read that somewhere & it stuck!)
I have loads of family all over VA. Older generations have told me they can trace our lineage back along the FFV lines, but who knows? I certainly haven’t gotten an invitation to join!
I do make it to Richmond about every other Xmas, so perhaps we’ll meet in person next time that happens. If you are interested in artwork, you might check out my Mom’s art. She lives in Richmond now & shows quite often: http://www.markibrownart.com.
Oh & Melbean..VA & the West Coast are very different. I grew up back & forth btwn farm life in VA & the beach life in LA — both having their benefits & drawbacks. I have to confess, as much as I love my family & have nostalgia for VA, I prefer living on the W. Coast.
