Took a walk this evening with Bob and Shiloh, which was nice tho I realized that I was slowing both of them down. Alas the groin isn’t happy this evening. Did manage to “walk it off” for the most part.

On the way home we saw a couple of neighbors measuring our parking circle sign. In Seattle neighborhoods, you’ll often see little roundabouts in tiny intersections; our street is so narrow that a car can only go one way up or down if cars are parked on the side of the street. Parking Circle Destroyed These circles are an expensive alternative to stop signs. And, they’re usually filled with plants (or weeds…or asphalt…or dirt). Ours had several shrubs and a tree until a drunk driver ran into it/over it/thru it about a week ago. Our neighbor “caught” the driver & managed to detain him until the police came & booked him on a DUI. This is pretty scary. I guess it happened at about 9:40pm, just after the sun went down. Its 9pm now & little kids are out riding their bikes at that corner!

The tree was totally destroyed. I can’t imagine how fast this driver must have been going. The tree took a beating & was complete uprooted, but it must of stopped the guy. How he couldn’t see a parking circle, a tree & a reflective yellow sign is amazing. Well, actually it isn’t amazing. He was drunk.

Say a prayer for the tree. I hope to help replant the circle this fall, when the rains have returned.

Ooops…there’s my buzzer…time to turn off the vegie garden irrigation!
