Saw the sun was out & I had a few minutes, so we got in a nice fall afternoon walk. I really like walking Shiloh around lunchtime, when it isn’t terribly hot out, for a few reasons. One, I get the joy of a walk with Shiloh. Two, I get out during daylight hours. Three, there aren’t a lot of people or dogs out, so its very peaceful and I can really enjoy the neighborhood gardens. Four, it stimulates my appetite.
Why is #4 so important? Often I feel like I have to eat when I’m not hungry at lunchtime, and I don’t like to do this. The reason I feel I have to do this is that otherwise I end up at a consultation with a client & find myself hungry 1/2 way through. When I get hungry I get light headed, cranky and just want to get away to eat something. That isn’t good for business! So, a short walk usually gets the lunch hunger going at the right time.
Today’s lunch menu: leftover homemade potato leek soup (non-dairy!) from last night and a garden-fresh tomato sandwich on locally baked, toasted oat bran bread with decaf iced black tea. (I may add in a lowfat fig newman or an apple when I finish the sandwich!) YUM!
