A Wall-free Headstand After Awakening Grumpy Quads

Thursday yoga was a small class, but we were a bunch of regulars. Diane tried out some different things with us, starting with a seated vinyasa that moved among seating poses such as forward bend, head to knee pose, seated twists, boat pose and cobbler. It was fun to do something different, and it definitely […]

Dog Walk — Brrr! (But Dry)

I met a new client late morning today. Together, we meandered through her yard (to soon become a garden). And, we froze. I’m recovering from being sick, and it seems she’s just starting to get sick. Bummer. Still, we made it through. Being outside early reminded me that I needed to get Shiloh out for […]

Left IT-band & Hamstring = yoga limiters

I almost didn’t make it to class. I was deeply focused on preparing a print advert. Then I glanced at the clock. It was just past the time I usually leave for yoga — and I still needed to change clothes. I hit “save”, swapped my outfit, and raced to the studio. I made it […]

Neighborhood walk

Brrrr…it was cold, but the sun was out, so I bundled up & took Shiloh for a neighborhood walk. Not much to report. I was warmed up by the time we got home, so I spent some time cleaning up a bit in the garden — underway construction messes, potted plants that needed protection, fertilizer […]

Back in the Studio

On a cold and sleeting evening, I returned to my yoga practice after a week off from studio practice. I was so thankful there was a class before mine, which meant the studio was warm and cozy by the time I arrived. It was a good workout. My body was a little sluggish after being […]

Huff ‘n Puff

Yep, that’s me. I’m on the mend, but the snot keeps coming. Yes, that’s a lovely picture. I was the gross one over the holidays. I hardly got any exercise. My body was working hard just to get well.
On Friday, I did do a bit of walking around. We had a tickets to a Salvador […]

The Battle Before the Battle of the Bulge

Yesterday I was that person everyone on a plane hates. Yes, I flew with my microbe war going in full force. I’d forgotten how painful cabin pressure during descent can be when you’ve got a head full of swollen sinuses. Still, our travels went smoothly, and I survived.
The night before the war in my head […]

Waging War with Microbes

The evil warrior Head Cold has traversed the landscape of my face, conquering all in its path. Slyly setting up base camp  as an annoying itch in my right ear, it eventually slithered into my throat, massing troups of mucus in my nose in order to cross that great mountainous facial divide culminating in a full attack […]

Just Breathe

I went to yoga despite this head (and now chest) cold. I planned to take it easy but found myself working some of the harder poses. I did scale back as I found my breath was off, and its better to scale back than get out of whack.
Glad I went.

[…]

Argh, I’m hit!

…hit with a cold that is…aches, sore throat, drippy nose, clogged ear. All this fun just three days before I have to get on an airplane like most of the rest of America to visit family and eat Turkey next Thursday. Can I kick it before then? In the great words of Bob the Builder, […]
