Handstand Hold

Monday yoga was a little rough. All day my tummy had been rumbling, and by late afternoon it was clear that something disagreable was making its way through my digestive system. Yoga offers many poses that help with my tummy aches. Upward facing dog is a great way to stretch the mid-drift, for instance. (And [...]

Saturday Yoga

My head cold continues, tho the Neti pot and an herbal tea I picked up yesterday are really helping. I felt pretty clear this morning when I woke up. I felt even better after cleaning my sinuses. I was determined to go to yoga. I had to miss a couple of my regular practices this [...]

Jingle Dog Gets a Compliment

Shiloh accompanied me to Blockbuster. I’m ready to take my headcold to the sofa with some tea & a movie. She wore her jingle bells and was complimented on how festive she looks in it.
Now to wrap up & crash for a while…

Low Activity

I’ve been stricken with another head cold. Maybe the one from Thanksgiving never went away or maybe one of the many petri dishes in my life (aka friends kids, clients, grocery store checker, atm keypad, etc…) passed me a whole new strain. I’m not sure, but I am sure that I’m sick of being sick. [...]

Jingle Dog

Can a dog be mortified?
I bought Shiloh a fancy jingle bell dog collar to wear for our holiday party. (Yeah, I don’t have kids, so I’ve got to play dress up with something, right?). Anyway, I’ve put them on her a few times to wear around the house. They kind of help monitor her prednisode-driven, garbage-sniffin’ [...]

“Most food-borne problems occur in the FDA’s realm”

I just read a not-surprising and very interesting story on the status of U.S. food safety departments. I’ve been reading a lot about our food production industry in other books and articles, especially in the last year. This article gave me further pause.  It’s a quick read: link

Sharing Good Energy

Today I got news from a friend that she is spending her last Christmas with her husband. He is sick. Her story of the memories they are building together tore my heart open. I didn’t know what to say. But, isn’t that always the way?
Instead, I dedicated some karmic yoga to them. I don’t claim to completely understand karma, [...]
